I have been passionately gardening on my property for 23 years and plan on being strong and healthy to garden for another 20 years. I have been a master gardener and now I participate in a local garden club. My garden won the 2015 Large Garden Contest sponsored by the Baltimore Sun newspaper. My garden has been featured in the Howard County Times.

Re: A Private Sanctuary
That Tuff Stuff hydrangea is really pretty. Did you add lime to get the nice pink color? Loved your succulent fountain, very artistic

Re: A Private Sanctuary
Is the orange flower the crossandra? I have never seen that before. An annual?

Love those colorful containers. Your path is beautiful. What are some of your favorite hostas?

Re: Late Summer Memories
Nancy Bellaire (HelloFromMD) Somewhat puzzled by the login. I was on DISCUS before. Is that gone now? Anyway, Hi Jeff! Wonderful pictures, as always. Your silver foliage plants just sparkle. Jealous of the pink grass. My garden club is trying to get it to grow and be showy in our native garden, but is is pitiful so far. I spot a pretty yellow lily. Do you recommend it?

Re: Stop and Smell the Roses
Hi Evelyn, magnificent displays especially your doorway. You must have list of disease resistant roses to share if you never spray. I found disease eventually built up in my garden except for the knockout roses which I never spray. But I would love to grow other roses. Please share your list. Thanks, Nancy

Re: A Garden Transformed
Hi Yvonne, your garden is awesome. That fall container is amazing and should win a subscription to Fine Gardening! Your new paint color for your house is perfect for setting off the colors in your gardens. I love the pink chairs. I have an indoor cat so will research where to find a cat tent. Oh, have you tried Eucomis yet, that would make a nice addition to the tropicals that can be saved. I hang the bulbs from the laundry pole in the basement. So easy. Congratulations on your new home and gardens!

Re: Surprises Amongst Gravel
Mail order is so frustrating. All the money I've wasted. Before my policy was to buy 3 and plant in 3 different locations. That has worked and often only 1/3 lived. Last year I created a nursery bed so I hope that will help the small starts get some girth before getting out and competing for nutrients with the established plants. I also planted Rooguchia clematis in the center since it got powdery mildew so bad in the other 3 locations. Still how else can we get the cool plants besides mail order? Oh I meant to tell you I had the best luck ever. I walked into a nursery and there were 10, one gallon pots of Spotty Dotty mayapple. So I got to plant a huge one in the garden, https://s3.amazonaws.com/finegardening.s3.tauntoncloud.com/app/uploads/2018/01/31011252/ebfbfe6095cf96fb922b497721f80efb44618eeb10d82ffeb52467370c9b9be1.jpg so should be good to go for over wintering.

Love the heucheras, too. I have followed your instructions and have been dividing and replanting mine.
