Re: The Garden in Transition to Fall
You are a very persuasive evangelist for adding caladiums to one's garden beds...yours are gorgeous! I was wondering if, when you mentioned your calcium bulbs wintering over in a bed of moss, you tucked them underground outdoors, in a garage or basement. If indoors, should the moss be totally dry? I live in the Knoxville area so we probably share similar weather. Thanks for the inspiration about caladiums.

Re: Garden Photography: Beauty Is in the Details
Love these delectable close-ups, Dave. I feel like I am right there in your garden leaning down for my own personal perusals...especially of the dew laden beauties. It's hard not to feel refreshed and invigorated by taking in such beauty.

Re: Robin's Favorite Plants of the Year
Love the upshot through the King Tut "bloom" heads...makes me feel like I am entering into the world of a Dr Seuss story. I've grown 'Baby Tut' but have always been scared off by it's bigger relative. You've made a believer out of me. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Ideas for Seasonal Decorations From the Garden
I was feeling inclined to scale down this year but either "gosh darn you, Cherry" or "Thank you so much, Cherry", since your photos and commentary have relit the fire. I feel reenergized and my creativity is waking up from its slumber. Yep, it's "Thank you so much, Cherry".

Re: Kevin's Garden Vignettes
Ha, Kevin, your garden and your gardening aesthetic does this to me every time...yep, I'm publicly confessing to committing 2 of the 7 deadly sins...hello to envy and lust. Your vignettes are positively intoxicating.

Re: Summer in Jay's Garden
It absolutely boggles my mind that your planted areas at Rhodwood are only a couple of years old. They look like they so well established and have all of the eye pleasing components found in the drool worthy meadow gardens of any of the highly esteemed public gardens. What you have achieved is truly inspiring.

Re: Seasons in a Montana Garden
Whew, I feel like I just made it here to comment by the hair of my chinny chin chin (ha, don't get me started on those uninvited sturdy chin hairs but that's a whole other topic). I love this garden photography approach. It's fascinating what the eye is invited to take in... depending on which plants serve as guide posts. There's no doubt that those statuesque bold blue delphiniums make one put the brakes on and want to just gaze upon them with awe and admiration. Your charming stone garden house is a wonderful reward for continuing, then, to let the gaze wander forward. What a wonderful destination point.

Re: More Months From Kielian’s Garden
Kielian, the first two photos show that your garden is truly aflame with fall color in spite of the subdued ambiance from the distant smoke influence. And the hugs from the snow cover only emphasize the beautiful bones of your evergreens and garden structures. It's all sublime.

Re: The Garden in Transition to Fall
Love the sentence from your response below..."The only thing better than a TN sunset is a TN sunrise." Thanks for your tips on how you plan to store your calcium bulbs. You're going to give your pots extra protection and leave things outdoors, right?
