Re: Out With The Boring!
Sonya, what a great start you’ve made in your transformation from essentially a monoculture front walk to one with texture and form. It is always exciting to start a new garden, and should be fun to work on this new house project. Beautiful. Keep us up to date with your progress.

Re: Spice Up Your Shade
Good morning, Lilian. Great photos. I really like the Melittis. I have never seen it before. The flowers look a bit like orchids. The leaves look like it is in the mint family. Is it very vigorous? how moist does the soil need to be to grow? I just looked it up, and saw the common name is Bastard Balm. I wonder what the story is behind that name. Great post.

Re: Foliage First
Good morning, Bob and MaryAnn. Your shady path looks like a lovely retreat from the heat of the summer. It is so nice to look at green right now, as I am already wanting winter to end. Love the explosion of color on the porch it is wonderful how many great coleus are now available. I like the last picture with the Miscanthus in the foreground and the Muhly grass backlit behind it. Thanks for sharing.

Re: A Rainbow Brought to Earth
Thank you, Steve, for responding to the group. I understand that a print article needs to limit the number of photos, but I disagree that a daily email blog should have that limit. To tell the story well, it is nice to have overview photos, as well as closeups of plants. It is hard to do that with 5 pictures or less. Remember, on GPOD, the PHOTOS are the story, while in a FG article, the photos enhance the story (written). Thanks for listening.

Re: A Rainbow Brought to Earth
You go girl, Michaele. Maybe we create a march on Knoxville. It is so sad HGTV dropped gardening from their programming.

Susan, you have brought by fond memories for me of Gardener's Diary. I loved that show so much, and so wish there was a way to see it again. You brought a smile to my face just thinking about it.

Re: Out With The Boring!
Crazy day for me, Frank. I just took a quick peek. Wow. Won’t have time to really look at your pictures until 10pm tonight.

Re: A Garden of Sculptures
Here is my contribution to the white pictures. Not a flower, but snow on Hydrangea quercifolia 'Little Honey'. I love the peeling bark lit by the warm glow of the low lying sun. https://s3.amazonaws.com/finegardening.s3.tauntoncloud.com/app/uploads/2018/01/31011707/8121b87a784305c38810163a0f32ca3910ec431cf0283e0b29151f914df48f68.jpg
